You see it in WoW Arena pretty consistently, its the same comps over and over again. This way the matchmaking can also be adjusted to make every attempt so as to not double up on any class, this also avoids the very clear "This is the comp you use to always win" situation which kills the range of different classes performing well at higher tiers/divisions. This breaks down the attempts at balance.
Bring two Scourge, bring two Firebrands, two Reapers, whatever. Duo Queue has clearly been exploited not just for wintrading or match manipulation in Conquest, but due to the imbalance of classes you can easily cheese through TDM modes because of the ability to Duo Queue in them. Thats it, no extra anything happening with objectives, map mechanics, etc. Conquest as a game mode is just clearly too complex for them to balance around so they need to simplify it for themselves. Conquest can remain as an Unranked game mode, like Stronghold, but clearly Conquest as a game mode, especially with how the meta develops around it (aka bunker meta and others), is clearly exploitable/cheesable and causes problems ANet very visibly can't handle which is why their repeated "solution" is to just remove things like certain Amulets and Sigils. To better handle these issues, and the gameplay issues themselves surrounding Ranked ANet needs to do a few things This also wouldn't even translate into "more money to put towards PvP development". ANet just needs to be willing to make the effort to moderate it better, as well as put in the work to make the drastic changes to Ranked to combat the issue better. There are other ways to combat the bot issue outside of forcing players to pay for expansions in order to actually participate. I understand its a genuine, valid and serious concern over botting and it definitely needs to be addressed and these accounts need to be properly actioned upon, but the solution cannot be paid gatekeeping for the Ranked mode. This could make or it break it and we really can't break pvp anymore. F2p players can play unranked but cannot play ranked i think thats a good middle ground, this way anet can use those proceeds to put into pvp and we will have a real metric if pvp makes money for better or worse i'm for this.
